MY THOUGHTS ON THE ISSUES

We need a voice in the House of Representatives. That's why I'm motivated to run!

THE ROLE OF A REPRESENTATIVE

A representative plays a crucial role in a democracy by fulfilling several key responsibilities.

  • Must show up for work and actively participate in the decision-making process.
  • Need to have a deep understanding of the issues at hand and make informed decisions based on this knowledge.

BASIC EXPECTATIONS

Everyone in Oklahoma is entitled to have access to quality healthcare, affordable childcare, strong public schools, and economic opportunity.

DEMOCRACY IN AMERICA

We are Americans and we live in the world’s greatest democracy. That means every citizen has the right to participate in the decision-making process. Voting is the most important way we do that, and our voting system has been proven to be trustworthy.

I want you to know that when elected, that I will show up for work, understand the issues, and spend the time to know what my constituents think on the issues.  Then I will advocate and compromise to arrive at an agreement with fellow representatives on the legislation at hand.

MAKE YOUR OWN CHOICE

I believe that every citizen has the right to make their own decisions for their own life.  My understanding is that this extends to, for example, from choosing my entree for dinner, to whether to get braces for my teeth, to what book to read, or to where I go to church, and the medical care you want to receive.  My decisions will always be based on this fundamental belief.

FISCALLY CONSERVATIVE

I believe that the state should live within its means, it should deliver the services deemed necessary to its citizens, and it should respect the will of the people.  The people expect to be treated respectfully and as equal partners as we all endeavor to live our daily lives.

Be smart with money. The state income tax pays for programs like public schools, colleges and universities, Career Tech, road construction, mental health treatment, and public safety just to name a few.  Don't cut out state income tax for political motives without understanding all the consequences.  If there really is a surplus, then why not return the tax paid to the people who paid it.

Also, monies allocated to state government should be spent for the described purpose.  We all work hard for our money, and don't want to get ground beef when we are expecting prime rib.  This means our state government should be held accountable for their budget and spending.
